Winter is almost here

The last leaf, holding, on before winter.

April in monochrome

Autumn in black and white is still something of beauty.

The essence of autumn

Autumn is more than falling leaves. It’s a mood. A time for memories, a season of nostalgia. It’s when the light has a dusky sweetness to it that makes you think of your childhood. When mists rise, fruits grow ripe and fall, and the trees turn the colour of melancholy. It’s when woodsmoke in the chill air gets into your soul and, at day’s end, turns your footsteps home.
