Thanks for visiting Ben Thomas Photos. It wasn’t all that long ago that I quit my job and decided to take photographs for a living instead. It’s always slightly troubling to leave something that you thought you were reasonably good at and jump into something entirely new.And yet I must confess, I really enjoy my new found profession. Time and again I manage to derive an amount of satisfaction that I never found tinkering with computers. I believe every one has a calling in this life. Something they are made to do, and do it well. I feel I may have stumbled on to mine. I’m learning everyday, continuously striving to get better at what I do.
Perfecting this may well take an entire life or perhaps many lifetimes, who knows.
Most of it, I have found, is just simply the art of seeing. But then who can ever claim to have perfected that?
Although I love wandering in solitude and capturing nature, I also love freezing moments of joy – some like to pose, some don’t even know I’m there! I like observing and documenting stories. Creating images you’ll still cherish when the moment is long gone.
