Baby Riley

Some of my earliest photographs in this blog are of Kristy and Sascha's wedding, almost two years ago. Last week I met their six month old baby Riley. Time flies.

We had to postpone this photo shoot twice due to the weather. Third time lucky. In fact, it turned out to be a glorious afternoon with every blade of grass and every shrub in Canberra beaming in the evening sun. A walk through the Mt. Rogers nature reserve along with a lively Jack Russell Terrier was quite fun.

I'm sure Riley will concur. Although I must admit, he didn't walk much. How could one, when you have two doting admirers ever willing to carry you?

Brogan family

It was the first time I'd done a family photo shoot in the morning. As it turned out, it couldn't have been a better time.  Two year old Nicholas was up and firing on all cylinders. He showed me a few tricks on the trampoline, a cubby house which he seemed quite proud of, a parked wheelbarrow, tricycle races with dad and I'm sure lots more if I had stayed on.

As always, the younger sibling was perfectly amazed by his big brother's exploits. Although slightly puzzled at the black contraption I was pointing at him, he soon figured it to be quite harmless and flashed a few generous smiles.

Prabha and Brendan, Wee Jasper NSW

As far as the location for a wedding goes, I must say, this was quite unique. Brendan and Prabha decided to get married in Carey's Caves in a small village about an hour and half north west of Canberra. Wee Jasper boasts a population of about 80 or so people, and is comfortably nestled in the Goodradigbee valley towards the western end of the Brindabella ranges with beautiful Lake Burrinjuck as the backdrop.

Now I must confess, having never shot a wedding inside a cave before I was a bit apprehensive about the lighting inside. But on the day it all went rather smoothly and by the time we emerged after the ceremony, the rain clouds had all disappeared leaving a blue sky and sunshine behind.

The evening was complete with a local bush band calling dances for the guests, and everyone, young and old alike seemed to be having a ball. I even caught myself a couple of times waltzing to their enchanting tunes.
