Tasmania collage

Beautiful Tasmania, well worth the drive, overnight ferry and anything else on the way.

Visiting Tasmania

Overnight reclining seats on a ferry may not be the best way to get there, although once you land it feels like it is all worth the effort. The weather rolled out the red carpet - for most of the week. Blue skies with white fluffy clouds at times, lush green farms spreading all the way to the sea, waves washing up in green and blue and animals quietly grazing constituted for a laid back and a very refreshing landscape.

I took a lot more shots of course. More can be found on this page. Photographs, I feel, only tell you part of the story. It is but a tiny extraction of the beauty around. If you haven't been yet, I heartily recommend this little island state for a visit one day.

A few flowers

Spring is finally here. Winter has finally, although quite hesitantly, agreed to lay down its arms. Deciduous trees everywhere are coming alive and little bulbs poking their heads out as the weather slowly warms up.

Floriade, which is Canberra's claim to fame in spring,  seems to be attracting people like bees to a flower - and quite a lot of bees too, I'm sure. These are a few photographs from last week.
